Lazio president Claudio Lotito has declared they're in the middle of the Punic Wars!

The Punic Wars were three battles waged between Rome and Carthage from 264 to 164 BC.

"The conclusive phase of the first half of the season will be a decisive race for Europe and the chance to express our real quality," Lotito told ANSA.

"We are faced with three very important matches: Samp, Roma and Napoli. These are three Punic Wars, during which it's necessary to show our muscles and give our best on a psychological and sporting level.

"It is our duty towards our history and to bring back to our fans the glory that they deserve."
