Lazio president Claudio Lotito has revealed they beat Arsenal and Juventus for Nacional de Montevideo goalkeeper Fernando Muslera.

Muslera was presented to local fans and media yesterday as Lotito declared: "Muslera is not a replacement, he is a fundamental choice, we had to chase hard for him in order to beat Arsenal, Juve and Inter Milan, who for a long time followed the player.

"Muslera is a boy of personality and with great technical ability. For now there is he, then Juan Pablo Carrizo will arrive also, we are trying to define the details of his (passport) status with River Plate."
