Deportivo La Coruna coach Miguel Angel Lotina has admitted to fans that the current team isn't the best they've seen in recent years.

"To the fans I can say that we have an interesting team, young and with great potential. Logically, this Deportivo is not the one of Roy Makaay, Mauro Silva and all those people. It is not necessary to be particularly intelligent to know that," said Lotina.

"It is not necessary to be very intelligent either to know that Depor, with the fans and the city that is behind it, cannot compete with Real Madrid and Barcelona consistently. There are bigger cities than ours that have never won the Liga."
