Lorient boss Christian Gourcuff indicates that the club will not be selling Jeremie Aliadiere anytime soon.
Newcastle United are believed to be tracking the former Arsenal and Middlesbrough forward but Lorient are keen to keep him at Stade du Moustoir after impressing since arriving on a free transfer in July 2011.
"I know Jeremie's wife is missing England a lot but I know Jeremie will still be here on February 1st," Gourcuff told L'Equipe.
"Losing such a decisive player in the middle of a season would be an aberration.
"If Jeremie were to leave, we would have money, but money won't replace the player. That excludes any January transfer whatever the fee is. In June, it would be different."
