West Bromwich Albion signing Shane Long admits he rejected a bigger contract offer from Leicester City.
The striker, 24, joined Albion from Reading this week in a £6.5million deal.
As he prepared for a daunting debut against Manchester United tomorrow, the Irish star said: "It's not about the money.
"There were clubs that were offering more cash.
"But if I was going to move it was just going to be to play in the Premier League. Roy Hodgson's experience swayed me, he gave off an aura that excited me.
"But when I heard West Brom were interested, I went on Wikipedia to check out the squad and the manager."
