Shane Long wants to stay at West Bromwich Albion.

The Express & Star says Long has no intention of seeking a move this summer, even if the Republic of Ireland international does not strike a deal to extend his stay.

The former Reading man will enter the final year of his current contract in the summer, although the deal includes an option to extend his stay for another year.

Albion sporting and technical director Richard Garlick flew to Ireland earlier this month for talks with Long's representatives, but the parties are still believed to be some way apart on the terms of an extension.
