Reports are suggesting that Cheick Tiote has played his final game for Newcastle United.
The 28-year old Ivory Coast defensive midfielder is contracted until the summer of 2017 but it is understood that he will be sold at the end of the season.
Tiote sustained a knee injury during the 2015 African Cup of Nations which is expected to keep him out of action until the latter stages of the current campaign.
The former FC Twente hard-man, who joined the Magpies in 2010, has been heavily linked with a £14million move to Russian club Lokomotiv Moscow indicating his 131-game career at St James' Park could as good as over.
