Lokomotiv Moscow are moving for Tottenham striker Roman Pavlyuchenko.
The Daily Mail says Spartak Moscow retain an interest in signing a player they sold to Spurs for £13.8m after Euro 2008, but Lokomotiv are in the driving seat after lodging a new undisclosed bid.
"We have made an offer for the player," said Lokomotiv president Nikolai Naumov. "It hasn't yet been rejected. We are waiting and I think everything will become clearer towards the end of the transfer window."
