Ruben Loftus-Cheek is digging in his heels at Chelsea.

The Guardian says Schalke - who will play in the Champions League this season - are now sniffing around and want to take him on loan.

But the 22-year-old is contracted to Chelsea until 2021 and wants to push for a key role in Maurizio Sarri's side.

Chelsea cannot make any more acquisitions with the English transfer window now shut.

Blues stars could still pack their bags and move to European teams before the end of the month though.
