Everton centre-forward Jo, on loan from Manchester City, scored twice in the 4-0 defeat of Wigan and immediately dedicated the strikes to his baby daughter who is currently in England. The Brazilian celebrating by sucking his thumb and rocking his arms in an imaginary cradle gesture.

"My daughter is here in England and that is why I was celebrating - it is the first time I have seen her with my wife and I am so happy," he explained to The Liverpool Echo.

"I have been lucky with the goals I have scored in front of our fans but I am going to work hard this week so I can get my first one away from Goodison.

"I would love to score against Aston Villa. This is going to be a difficult game for us but if we play as we did against Wigan, I think we will be fine.

"I'm enjoying playing alongside Felli (Marouane Fellaini). He is a good player, a clever player and knows how to bring people in to the attack. He uses his head and is good when he has the ball at his feet.

"We have got a good break on the teams behind us and we are getting closer to reaching Europe, but we will not stop. I'm very happy here and I now that I have got seven games to go before my deal expires.

"We will see what happens but I'm really enjoying my time here. The manager and all my team-mates have given me confidence. I'm playing better in every game and that's what I'm going to continue to do."
