LOAN WATCH: Wigan keeper Nicholls thrilled with Northampton form

Goalkeeper Lee Nicholls is loving his time with League Two club Northampton Town.

The 20-year old is on loan with the Cobblers from Wigan Athletic and has started all 21 league matches thus far, keeping seven clean sheets in the process.

Nicholls believes the experience of playing regular first team football is thoroughly helping his development and admits he is excited about what lies ahead back at parent club Wigan.

"It is going really well at Northampton, for both myself and the team as a whole, we're doing really well in the league," he told the club's official website.

"There's one thing playing lots of games but, to have the good performances makes it so enjoyable.

"I have to give a lot of credit to my team mates at Northampton as well because the clean sheets I've kept haven't just been down to me, the team as a whole always contributes."

He added: "(Wigan's) Ali (Al Habsi) is a fantastic keeper and having Mike Pollitt to learn from as well with the amount of games he has played over his career is great and a great environment to be in.

"I'm really looking forward to my future with the Club and really enjoying my football at the moment."
