West Bromwich Albion striker Chris Wood continues to thrive whilst on loan at Championship clubs.
The 20-year old New Zealand international striker has netted eight goals in 13 appearances for Millwall since shifting temporarily from the West Midlands to South London and his performances have not been lost on new teammate Chris Taylor.
The winger hopes that Wood, who has had previous stints with Brighton & Hove Albion, Birmingham City and Bristol City, can stay at The Den past January when his initial loan runs out as he feels he is vital to the Lions’ promotion chances.
"Wood has been different class and it's not just his goals, it's his determination and work rate for the team," Taylor told the Daily Mirror.
"It would be a major loss if we did lose him, but hopefully that won't happen. It's fair to say he probably holds the key to how we're going to do this season."
Wood scored the opening goal in the weekend’s 2-0 victory at Blackburn Rovers to continue his run of seven goals in seven matches – including two braces – with four of those scoring efforts resulting in Millwall wins.
