LOAN WATCH: West Brom's Thorne, Dagenham's Gayle help Peterborough in nine-goal thriller

Peterborough United have two loanees to thank for their 5-4 home win over Bolton in the Championship on the weekend.

Bottom-of-the-table Posh recorded their second win on the trot, surviving a late scare as the Trotters netted twice in the final five minutes, to go level with second-bottom Bristol City on 19 points.

West Bromwich Albion teenager George Thorne and Dagenham & Redbridge surprise packet Dwight Gayle were among the goalscorers for Darren Ferguson's men who skipped away to a two-goal lead by the sixth minute when the latter added to Lee Tomlin's early opener for his fifth goal in six outings.

Keith Andrews pegged one back for Bolton from the penalty spot on the stroke of half-time before Thorne made it 3-1 two minutes into the second half for his first Posh goal.

Andrews managed to convert a second time from the spot prior to the hour-mark but Mark Little and Gabriel Zakuani gave Peterborough a 5-2 lead with seven minutes remaining.

Arsenal loanee Benik Afobe gave Bolton late hope to before Martin Petrov set up a grandstand finish when he made it 5-4 in the 87th minute but the home side held on for a much-needed win.
