FC Twente boss Steve McClaren is set to send Dedryck Boyata back to Manchester City in January.
Voetbal International reports that the 22-year old Belgian defender has failed to impress during his loan with Twente and will be discarded in the New Year.
Boyata has made a total of 10 appearances in all competitions for the Enschede club but has started in the Eredivisie just once with McClaren set to cut him free from his season-long loan.
If Boyata does return to City, it is apparent that he will soon be farmed out again by Roberto Mancini as his chances of first team football at the Etihad Stadium are very slim.
