Connor Wickham scored an injury-time consolation goal as Sheffield Wednesday were beaten 2-1 by Huddersfield Town at Hillsborough on the weekend.
20-year old Wickham, who was purchased by Sunderland from Ipswich Town for £8million in 2011, joined Wednesday on loan at the start of the month in the hope of playing regular first team football.
Goals from Martin Paterson and Adam Clayton all but sealed victory for Huddersfield when Wickham stepped up to thump home a free-kick in added time.
The Owls are struggling with only one win so far this season as they currently find themselves in the Championship relegation zone on 11 points.
