Connor Wickham continued his impressive form in front of goal for Sheffield Wednesday as the Owls comfortably defeated 10-man Leeds United 6-0 at Hillsborough on Saturday.
Wednesday controlled much of the first half and went into the break with a two-goal buffer with Reda Johnson and Atdhe Nuhui giving the Owls breathing room.
Leeds' day was made worse after the restart when half-time substitute Matt Smith was given his marching orders following a poor challenge on Johnson. Three minutes later and the result was academic when Wickham scored his seventh goal in 10 appearances for Wednesday.
With his backheel spinning favorably off United winger Jacques Maghoma, Wickham surged into the left edge of the area before firing the ball low past Leeds goalkeeper Paddy Kenny.
Goals from Chris Maguire and Caolan Lavery rounded off the resounding victory as Wednesday jumped to 19th on the Championship table with 25 points.
