LOAN WATCH: Stoke ponder permanent move for Liverpool's Assaidi

Stoke City manager Mark Hughes reportedly wants to sign Oussama Assaidi permanently from Liverpool.

The 25-year old Moroccan winger joined the Potters from the Reds on a season-long loan in August last year and has made 18 Premier League appearances for three goals this term.

Hughes is aware that the former Heerenveen man has to return to Anfield at season's end but indicated that he would try to learn more about what the future holds for the player and for the Staffordshire club.

"Ozzy (Assaidi) isn't our player - but he has done really well and we will talk about his future," Hughes told reporters.

"We have been good for him and he's been good for us.

"But I don't know where his future lies because we haven't had those conversations yet."

Assaidi arrived at Liverpool from Holland for around £2.4million in August 2012 but struggled for game time on Merseyside and was subsequently sent to Stoke last summer.
