Eirik Holmen Johansen will stay with Scunthorpe United for the remainder of the season.
The 20-year old Manchester City goalkeeper arrived at Glanford Park in early March on an emergency loan and was set to return to his parent club after the weekend.
However, Scunthorpe has requested permission from City to keep Johansen for the final few matches of League One campaign which has been granted.
The Norwegian gloveman has made five appearances for the Iron who are currently sitting in the relegation zone in England's third tier.
