Tottenham forward Simon Dawkins is the first target that MLS Supporters' Shield winners San Jose Earthquakes want to secure for next season.
The 24-year old English midfielder has spent the past two campaigns on loan with the Quakes, making over 50 league appearances and scoring 14 goals during his time, and Quakes boss Frank Yallop wants him back permanently.
"We're expecting Simon back next year," Yallop said.
Dawkins is not keen on another loan and would have to wait until January for the Quakes to sign him from Spurs where he has yet to make a first team appearance.
