Ishmael Miller allowed Middlesbrough to remain third on the Championship table courtesy of a late winner against Peterborough United on Saturday.
The 25-year old striker, on a season-long loan from Nottingham Forest, came off the bench to score with just under 15 minutes remaining as Boro snatched victory at London Road.
Faris Haroun had the Teessiders two goals ahead inside 20 minutes but Dwight Gayle scored a brace of his own to led the Posh back to level terms, however, it was Miller who had the last say with a 76th-minute leveler.
Boro boss Tony Mowbray heaped praise on the former Manchester City and West Bromwich Albion man, admitting that he was a very big chance of starting the match.
"Ishmael was a real thorn in Peterborough's side. He was unlucky not to play from the start but showed his hunger to help the team by coming on and doing the business," said Mowbray.
Miller has now scored four goals for Middlesbrough in 12 appearances following his efforts against Hull City, Sheffield Wednesday and Bristol City.
