Brad Inman made it three goals in three games for Crewe Alexandra but could not fire the League One side to victory on Boxing Day.
The Australian-born Scotland youth international opened the scoring in the 12th minute but Tranmere Rovers struck back twice through Adam McGurk and Max Power to win 2-1 at 21-year old midfielder Inman, who joined Crewe from Newcastle United on November 22, has now scored in each of his three league starts after appearing in the Football League Trophy win over Doncaster Rovers in early December.
