Sammy Ameobi believes his loan at Middlesbrough will give him the impetus to force his way into the Newcastle United first team.
The 20-year old forward is at the Riverside Stadium until the end of the season and feels his time there will help further prepare him for the rigors of the Premier League.
"I've already taken a lot from the games I've played, and I'm stronger physically," he told the Evening Chronicle.
"Hopefully, I can bring that back to Newcastle. Middlesbrough are trying to get in the play-offs, and I'm trying my best to help the club do that."
He added: "I'm feeling part of the team. Hopefully, I'll continue getting games and impress the manager. Games are what I need for my confidence and development as a player.
"I'm playing week-in, week- out, and keeping my fitness levels on."
