LOAN WATCH: Man Utd's Powell scores in Wigan's loss to Derby County

Manchester United loanee Nick Powell continued his goal scoring form for Wigan Athletic despite the Latics 3-1 defeat at the hands of Derby County in the Championship on Sunday.

Shock ran throughout the DW Stadium as the Rams fired home three goals within the first thirty minutes to make it a difficult afternoon for Owen Coyle's side.

The one shining light was Powell, who scored his sixth goal of the year for Wigan, when he headed Emmerson Boyce's 50th minute cross past County goalkeeper Lee Grant.

Powell has been in outstanding form so far this season which has prompted Manchester United manager David Moyes to weigh up which division will most enhance Powell's progression.

United are projecting Powell to be an integral part of their future but a stint with a Premier League club next season prior to rejoining the Red Devils for 2015/16 may be in the 19-year olds best interests.
