Tyler Blackett will remain on loan with Blackpool after being persuaded by manager Paul Ince.
The 19-year old Manchester United left-back has been at Bloomfield Road since the start of November and has so far impressed prompting Ince to ask his parent club for an extension.
"The kid has done well," Ince said.
"He's only 19 but I think the last game and the game before he grew into his role. I think he'll only get better.
"He's better off playing in this environment and learning his trade."
Blackett will now stay with the Seasiders, who are placed sixth in the Championship, until early January.
