Heart of Midlothian loanee Michael Ngoo says he was unaware of half of his teammates names on the weekend.
The 21-year old striker is on loan from Liverpool for the rest of the season and made an immediate impact for Hearts by scoring in the 1-1 Scottish Communities League Cup semi-final draw with Inverness before netting in the ensuing penalty shootout which his side won 5-4.
Ngoo only joined the Jambos from Anfield last week and admits to not knowing the majority of his teammates whilst on debut but says he now feels more comfortable at Tynecastle.
“Right now I know most of the boys’ names – but it was hard on Saturday! I didn’t even know I was going to play to be honest,” he said.
“On Friday the manager was handing out bibs, and he read out the team and I was in.
“But I think we got on pretty well. The runs I was making obviously helped – and I’m not shy in asking for the ball!
“So obviously I enjoyed Saturday and since then I’ve been getting to know the boys more and more.
“It’s amazing for me to come up here. I’ve been here four or five days and I’m in a final already – that’s not bad!
“Now my confidence is high I want the games to come thick and fast, because the experience of Saturday was incredible.”
