Loic Remy has returned to Chelsea from Crystal Palace for treatment on an injury.

The French striker joined the Eagles on a season-long loan from the Blues in the summer window but has momentarily headed back to Cobham in a bid to get over the thigh problem he sustained at Palace training on Monday.

"It is obviously a blow for the player and for us as a squad, he has just joined us and we were hoping he would play a big part in the team moving forward," said Palace boss Alan Pardew.

"He was looking great in training and this was an innocuous injury which can sometimes happen unfortunately."
