Chelsea striker Romelu Lukaku continued his impressive loan spell for Everton, as the Belgian’s second-half goal clinched all three points in the Toffees’ 2-1 defeat of Southampton at Goodison Park on Sunday.
After leading for the majority of the match following Seamus Coleman’s stunning first-half strike, Everton were stunned when substitute Gaston Ramirez equalized with a long range effort with under twenty minutes remaining.
However, the Toffees had to wait a mere three minutes for their lead to be restored, thanks to some great build-up play and a clinical finish from Lukaku.
After receiving the ball from Steven Pienaar, James McCarthy went on a daring run, which resulted in a classy through ball that set up Lukaku to score his first goal in five games and his ninth for the season.
