Chelsea striker Romelu Lukaku continued his impressive loan spell for Everton, as the Belgian's second-half goal clinched all three points in the Toffees' 2-1 defeat of Southampton at Goodison Park on Sunday.
After leading for the majority of the match following Seamus Coleman's stunning first-half strike, Everton were stunned when substitute Gaston Ramirez equalized with a long range effort with under twenty minutes remaining.
However, the Toffees had to wait a mere three minutes for their lead to be restored, thanks to some great build-up play and a clinical finish from Lukaku.
After receiving the ball from Steven Pienaar, James McCarthy went on a daring run, which resulted in a classy through ball that set up Lukaku to score his first goal in five games and his ninth for the season.
It was an important win for Everton who now find themselves with 37 points and in 4th position on the Premier League table; one point ahead of Merseyside rivals Liverpool.
