LOAN WATCH: Bradford boss Parkinson thrilled with Newcastle's Good, West Ham's Turgott

Bradford City manager Phil Parkinson spoke highly of two of his loan signings following the FA Cup draw with Brentford on the weekend.

The League Two Bantams drew 1-1 with Uwe Rosler's League One Bees in the second round of the famous cup competition and the performances of Newcastle United defender Curtis Good and West Ham United winger Blair Turgott were not lost on the boss.

"We've been very pleased with them," Parkinson said of the Australian youngster and England U19 international.

"They're two players I'd obviously seen playing for their teams at West Ham and Newcastle, but the step up to first-team football is a large leap from where they were in terms of intensity of game.

"But I thought they both handled it really well and it's a bonus to all the staff and the team that we've seen two players there that looked like they'll be able to cope with first-team football and make contributions for the next month while they're here."

Parkinson added: "It's great experience for them and it's great for the clubs to help us out with players because both managers were great about it.

"Both Alan Pardew and Sam Allardyce want their younger players to get experience and they have helped us financially with the deals because they realise it benefits their players. They're great deals for us."
