Thibaut Courtois is reportedly waiting on assurances from Chelsea before agreeing a contract extension.

The Belgian goalkeeper, currently on his third season-long loan with Atletico Madrid, is under contract at Stamford Bridge until 2016 but reports suggest he has been offered a fresh deal to keep him in southwest London for longer.

However, Courtois is determined to become Chelsea number one next season and wants to know that he is the man to replace Petr Cech before committing to the club, especially seeing as Real Madrid and Barcelona are waiting in the wings.
