Catania chief Pietro Lo Monaco has continued his tirade against Inter Milan coach Jose Mourinho.
The two men already traded insults across the media for several weeks last season and come face to face again.
"I hope that on Friday night it will be a game played on a level playing field and officiated in an equal manner," said Lo Monaco in a pre-emptive strike on the referee.
"I can certainly say that Inter will not play against Catania, but against the entire city of Catania.
"We will give Inter a real fight and, as they say round these parts, against us Inter will face down our Lord Jesus Christ."
The Elefantini's general manager had some particularly barbed comments in store for Coach Mourinho, who will be in the stands due to a touchline ban.
"I must say that the Mourinho character does attract strong reactions from the public, but he is a showman who has based his entire life on creating spectacle.
"I think he is aware of what might happen at the Massimino and he wouldn't be particularly scandalised.
"Having said that, I hope the people of Catania will behave in a civil manner, as they always have done."
