The League Managers' Association want "clarification" over Avram Grant's coaching qualifications.
"The Association's stance on mandatory qualifications is well known and well documented. We have always supported the principles of education and preparation for a career in football management.
"Clearly we need to establish the facts before we make any further comments and, in this respect, we are making urgent contact with the Barclays Premier League."
However, Grant insists there is no problem, telling The People: "I am qualified.
"It is only a problem because I'm Israeli and it's only their relationship with UEFA that is a problem."
Chelsea chief executive Peter Kenyon also insisted there was no cause for concern.
"In the required time frame, the necessary paperwork will be there.
"It's not going to be an issue."
