Lloris in frame as agents confirm Lyon push for Man Utd's Anderson

Manchester United midfielder Anderson could be on his way to Olympique Lyon - with Hugo Lloris moving in the opposite direction. The Sun says United's misfit midfielder, fined £80,000 this week for going AWOL back home in Brazil, hopes to resurrect his career in France after falling out of favour with boss Alex Ferguson.

The 21-year-old flew home to meet up with Vasco Da Gama officials when he should have been training in Manchester.

A spokesman for his agents, Gestifute, confirmed the Lyon link.

He said: "We are working towards some authorisation with United.

"The subject could be closed this weekend."

It is thought Lloris, 23, would welcome a switch to the Prem. But he must be convinced it is in his best interests to understudy current United No 1 Edwin van der Sar, now 39.

If Lloris arrives, Fergie will know that both Ben Foster and Tomasz Kuszczak will have serious questions to be answered about their Old Trafford goalkeeping futures.
