Villarreal chief Jose Manuel Llaneza has hailed their re-signing of coach Manuel Pellegrini.

The Chilean penned a new contract this week through to 2010 and a delighted Llaneza declared: "We congratulate him and the truth is that the re-signing has been much easier than we thought, because at every time he has shown that he wanted to stay with us.

"He has also shown that for him, money is not the most important thing, because he had some offers superior to ours, but this is a man who wants to work for Villarreal and is very much involved in this project."
