Ljungberg not the only player in transfer sights - Seattle Sounders' Hanauer

Seattle Sounders general manager Adrian Hanauer has revealed that star midfielder Freddie Ljungberg is not the only player at the club who is a transfer target of other teams.

The former Arsenal and West Ham United midfielder has always been linked with a move away from Qwest Field but Hanauer says the he is not the only Sounder attracting interest whilst admitting a move for Ljungberg is possible.

"I would say it's a little more tenuous than it was a year ago. This is a big transfer window, especially for European teams," he told the Seattle Times. "And this doesn't necessarily only apply to Ljungberg. With Fredy Montero, Osvaldo Alonso, Steve Zakuani, we have a bunch of young talented players, and there's going to be interest, especially as clubs over there are preparing for their upcoming season."

As for Ljungberg's future at the club, Hanauer was resigned to the fact that football is a business and that he was open to any talks regarding the Swede.

"I think I've always been open to say, 'Hey look. Whether it's right now, a month from now, three months from now, whenever, we're always to looking to make our team stronger.' We take phone calls, we make phone calls. I wasn't singling out Ljunbgerg. Players come and go... It's just a 'business as usual' approach," he added.
