Ljungberg likely to leave Chicago Fire

Chicago Fire star midfielder Freddie Ljungberg looks set to leave the MLS club to pursue other opportunities.

The former Sweden international and Arsenal ace is believed to be looking for a much bigger salary and is pondering his next move according to a source of ESPNChicago.com.

Ljungberg joined the Fire from Seattle Sounders in mid-season and performed well but it is likely that he will not be at Toyota Park in 2011.

Reports have linked him with an English Premier League return with Aston Villa said to be showing interest but a move there is not highly likely as manager Gerard Houllier recently signed Ljungberg's former Gunners teammate Robert Pires, 37.

It is also believed that Colombian defender Wilman Conde is set to pursue other options as well after four-and-a-half season with the Fire.
