Ljungberg hopeful of Seattle return

Seattle Sounders' designated player Freddie Ljungberg is hopeful he will return to the club next season.

The former Arsenal and West Ham star has been linked with a return to Europe but confirmed that he has not yet decided what will happen with his career although he is keen to remain a Sounders player.

"I love it here," Ljungberg said. "We'll see what we're going to decide.

"I said I'll talk to my agent after the playoffs, and unfortunately now it's after the playoffs. But like I said, I love it in Seattle and hopefully I'll be back next season."

Ljungberg took a while to get going in MLS, but after he found his feet, became one of the Sounders' most important players and they will be determined to keep him at the club.
