Ljungberg excited to team up with Pires in Arsenal legends match with AC Milan

Arsenal legend Freddie Ljungberg is excited to team up with his former teammate Robert Pires in the upcoming Arsenal Legends' match with AC Milan.

The charity game between Arsenal Legends and Milan Glorie will feature some of the biggest legends of both clubs and will take place at Emirates Stadium on September 3.

Ljungberg cannot wait to grace the same pitch as his former teammates and opponents and expects Frenchman Pires to be one of the fittest on the park.

"It's going to be great fun," Ljungberg told Arsenal Player. "I'm going to see some old team-mates, play some football and see the fans, so it's going to be great. As a former player, what you miss most is the banter in the dressing room but I think that'll be back.

"I loved my team-mates and had good relationships with all of them, but of course the ones you never see who live abroad - it will be nice to see them because it's been a few years since I have.

"Arsenal is my second home. I stayed here for a very long time because I love the club and values we stand for. I work for the club as an ambassador now and coach the under-15s, so I'm still very involved in the club and it's going to be nice to be back.

"I imagine Robert is fit. He can't give up playing football! I think he plays everyday so I think he'll be fit.

"There were some great players in the old era of Arsenal and today as well, so it's going to be nice to see them all. We're playing against a great side in AC Milan too. There's a lot of history in that club and the players who are due to play have won a lot of things too."
