Bixente Lizarazu has questioned PSG's deal for Chelsea defender David Luiz.
Luiz has become the most expensive defender in football after his €50 million move to PSG.
World Cup winner Lizarazu said: "The price of David Luiz seems exaggerated in comparison with the prices of other good players.
"It amazes me because Alex had a great season and this purchase complicates the future of Marquinhos.
"Perhaps PSG did not need another defender."
