Livorno president Aldo Spinelli has rejected Serse Cosmi's resignation.

Cosmi quit after a furious row with the patron over the amount of time spent in training with the squad.

But Livorno have now made peace with him.

"President Spinelli has unconditionally rejected the resignation of Coach Cosmi considering the results achieved, the standard of football and the work done by the tactician and his staff," read a statement on the Livorno website.

"The President considers the work done by Cosmi and his staff to be too important an investment and one that must not be wasted for the rest of the season."

The club also officially appointed Claudio Garzelli as the new director general.
