Livorno president Aldo Spinelli has slammed Serse Cosmi after sacking the coach this week.

Cosmi leaves Livorno rock bottom of the Serie A table.

When asked why he decided to give Cosmi the boot, Spinelli said: "For the missing results. We tried to see if something would change. Instead it didn't go like this.

"I hope to see some victories from now until the end of the season. There weren't the right results and I don't know what hasn't worked: the Coach, the club… when the results don't arrive it's everyone's responsibility.

"It wasn't the last chance for Cosmi. He would have continued until the end of the season, but we didn't see him getting a victory against any team.

"Now we'll try and play six finals to see if we manage to close the season with dignity out of respect for our supporters and season ticket holders."
