Livorno admit AC Milan rejected the chance to sign Juventus star Giorgio Chiellini.

Chiellini first broke through while a young defender at Livorno.

"I dined with Milan boss Massimiliano Allegri, Vice-President Adriano Galliani and Napoli President Aurelio De Laurentiis on Saturday," Livorno chief Aldo Spinelli told Radio RAI.

"Talking to Galliani, we remembered when he didn't want to spend €4m for my Chiellini who was with us at the time.

"We had a little laugh…"
