Adam Lallana is expected to make his long awaited return from injury in Liverpool's clash with his former club, Southampton, this weekend.

The Reds playmaker has been out with a thigh injury since pre-season, but he played in a closed doors match at Melwood on Tuesday.

After spending time at the Aspire clinic in Qatar, Lallana returned to training with Liverpool in mid-October.

Skipper Jordan Henderson also returned to training after he missed Liverpool's 4-1 win over West Ham United with a thigh injury.
