Liverpool midfielder Xabi Alonso admits the UK's new tax laws could force him to quit the Premiership.

"Of course we think about it," Alonso said. "When you see your contract down by 30% you cannot be happy."

The pound is worth €1.18, but when Alonso signed a five-year contract in June 2007 it was worth €1.48.
