Liverpool ace Fernando Torres admits boss Rafa Benitez is an old nag.

He scored 33 goals in his debut season, has five this term, and inspired Spain to European Championship glory. But Torres, 24, said: "I am my own sternest critic, but my manager is just as demanding as I am.

"Rafa keeps reminding me I still have a long way to go. I'll score a goal, but he won't tell me he is happy afterwards - I have him on my back for six hours every day.

"But the fact he paid £26m for me is a huge vote of confidence."
