Liverpool's Pennant: Birmingham miss Bruce

Liverpool winger Jermaine Pennant has told former club Birmingham City they're missing Steve Bruce.

After impressing in Saturday's 2-2 draw, Pennant said: "Without a shadow of a doubt Birmingham have missed Steve Bruce. He got the club up and did very well.

"Now he is doing it for Wigan because they were in the relegation zone. He has gone there and scraped them out of it. It is a real shame he left. It will prove costly because getting a new manager halfway through the season when you are in a tight spot is a massive upheaval.

"But I still think Alex McLeish can get them out of it.

"And if they have the belief and the fans get behind them then they can stay up. It is up to them."
