The representatives of Liverpool midfielder Javier Mascherano have offered the Argentine to Barcelona.

Marca says Barca have been encouraged to bid for Mascherano, whose £17 million deal at Liverpool is still to be finalised.

For now, however, Barca are happy to wait before making a firm bid for the midfielder.
