Liverpool striker Dirk Kuyt admits he was unhappy after being axed by Holland coach Marco van Basten for last week's match against Belarus.

He told RTL 7: "I was ready to start against Belarus and that's why I am disappointed that I didn't.

"But there's nothing that I can do, the coach chooses to play with another striker.

"It's very difficult to change that.

"I don't want to be on the bench - I want to start."
