Liverpool striker Dirk Kuyt says working with Robbie Fowler last season improved his game.
Fowler returns to Anfield tonight with Cardiff City for their Carling Cup tie and Kuyt told liverpoolfc.tv: "He is one of the best strikers Liverpool have ever had. You could see in every training session and every game you played with him that he was still one of the best finishers in the world.
"You can learn from every player, but especially Robbie. As a striker, you only have to watch him to learn.
"He was a wonderful person. He always tried to stay normal, never a celebrity, and was one of those people who'd really try to help you when you first arrived at the club. He was a typical Liverpudlian like Stevie and Carra."
Kuyt will reserve a warm handshake for Fowler before kick-off - but that's where the goodwill ends, for 90 minutes at least.
"Of course I'm not wishing him luck for Wednesday night," he added. "I think maybe he'll want Liverpool to win anyway!"
