Dirk Kuyt was delighted to be back amongst the goals after Liverpool's derby victory at Everton on Saturday.

"Playing and scoring goals against Everton was good for me and my confidence. I had been injured for the previous ten days and had missed the international break," Kuyt told liverpoolfc.tv.

"So I was glad that I was fit to play and glad that I could do something for the team.

"We have to believe in ourselves, and we have a really big squad and sometimes different people are playing.

"Everybody wants to play every game. But you cannot play 60-plus games a season at this intensity, if you play 40 you should be really happy.

"We all want to win the trophies so we have to accept this is the way to do it."
