Liverpool favourite Dirk Kuyt admits he could easily have become a professional fisherman.
The Dutchman revealed when he was young his late dad Gerrit told him to choose between football and a life on the fishing boat.
Kuyt revealed to 'All Red Fans': "The first thing I started playing with was a ball.
"I am the only son in the family - I've got two older sisters and one younger sister.
"My father was a fisherman so it's not really in the family but in the village where I come from everyone plays football.
"I wanted to be a fisherman when I was young but my dad said, 'You have to choose between football and fishing'.
"That made it an easy choice for me because I love football."
